革製品のお手入れについて

About caring for leather products

We will explain how to care for leather products.

No special maintenance is required during daily use.
If it bothers you, just remove the dust with a horsehair brush.
Horse hair brushes have softer bristles than pig hair brushes.

If you feel that it has become dry as you continue to use it,
Apply a commercially available leather care product lightly and evenly.
How to use

If you are not using it and will keep it closed, wipe it dry once a month to prevent mold and dry it in a well-ventilated place.

◆What do you do in a situation like this?

1...When moisture from rain or water adheres to the surface of the leather, the moisture takes away the dirt on the surface and penetrates deep into the leather.
Therefore, please wipe the entire product with a tightly wrung out wet cloth as soon as possible.
Wet the entire surface and wipe it to prevent water stains.

2. It's dirty/darkened *Personally, I think it's difficult to restore it to the ideal condition by yourself, but I'll give you a general answer.
Please use a cleaner/detergent suitable for the type of leather, such as smooth leather or suede leather. (Our leather is tanned and smooth)
Please read the information on the back carefully and follow the instructions for use.
It may also be erased with a regular eraser. (※Please take responsibility for your actions)
If you want to make it look better, we recommend that you consult a repair shop.

3...Color changes and becomes thinner → This is caused by chrome tanned leather being exposed to sunlight for a long time. Please consult a repair shop that can do complementary colors.
Darkening → This is commonly known as aging due to tanning caused by tanned leather being exposed to sunlight, or dirt that has adhered or penetrated through use. If you want to return to the original color, please consult a repair shop that can do complementary colors.

4. New product smells → The main cause is the oil used in the tanning process. It will fade as you use it, but if you don't like it, please dry it in the shade in a well-ventilated place.
Used items → Sweat, dirt, mold smell. First, let's dry it in the shade in a well-ventilated place. You can wash your leather products at home using a detergent made specifically for leather products, but it is best to have your leather products cleaned by a professional leather cleaner.

5...Dried. The number one enemy of cracked leather is dryness.
Once it dries and cracks, it's over.
If it feels dry, immediately apply a leather care product (oil or cream).
If it is cracked and you want to bring it back to life, please contact a repair shop.

6. Even if you wipe off the moldy surface, the mold still lives inside the leather, so please maintain it with a leather care product that can sterilize it.
Considering the time and precision required, it is best to consult a leather cleaning shop.
Preventing mold from growing in the first place is best for the leather and is also economical.
Brush it once a month and dry it in a shaded area with good ventilation.
Many leather care products (oils, creams) contain antifungal agents, so frequent maintenance is important. However, excessive application is strictly prohibited as it can itself become food for mold.

7. If the scratches are just a light scratch on the tanned leather, you can make them less noticeable by simply rubbing or brushing them with your fingers or a cloth.
If there is a cut or the surface is peeled off, please contact a repair shop.

*Leather can be finished with a wide variety of properties depending on the material and processing method.
When using leather care products, please read the instructions carefully and use them correctly.

*If repair is required, please do not try to do it yourself, but consult a shop that specializes in repair. That's for leather products.
