What is the difference between comet R2, S2, and W2?

They share the same basic construction and functionality. The main difference is the flap design, so you can choose the look you prefer without changing the core wallet layout.

How are the colors arranged on two-tone comet wallets?

On two-tone products such as comet R2, S2, and W2, the outer and inner flaps use the first color in the color name, while the coin pocket and card sections use the second color. This rule does not apply to every product. Other models may have different color layouts and construction, so please check the photos and selectors on each product page. Which colors are popular?

Our four popular colors are Black, Wine Red, Wax Black, and Wax Ash Brown. Wax leather is especially recommended for leather lovers because it changes dramatically with use and develops a rich patina. See our wax-leather aging guide for examples.

How does wax leather age?

The pale surface wax gradually blends into the leather with use, revealing a deeper original color and stronger sheen. The exact change varies with use and handling. See our wax-leather aging guide for photos and details.

What is the difference between Italian leather and wax leather?

Italian leather develops a more subtle change while gaining sheen and softness. Wax leather starts with a pale waxy surface, then changes more dramatically as its deeper color and shine emerge. Wax leather is especially recommended if you want to enjoy a distinctly leather-like patina. See our leather guide for details.

Are wrinkles, scratches, veins, or insect marks in the leather defects?

Not necessarily. Natural leather may retain wrinkles, small scratches, vein patterns, and insect marks from the animal's life. We use these areas only when durability is unaffected, so please enjoy them as the individual character of genuine leather. See our leather guide for details.

Is leather care difficult?

Leather care is simpler than it may seem. Please see our leather-care guide for the recommended method.

Options & customization

How much thickness do an inner pocket and bill divider add?

Each option adds approximately 1.2 mm of leather. Selecting both adds about 2.4 mm. For every applicable wallet, the flap is made about 1 cm longer so usable capacity stays nearly unchanged.

Should I add the coin-pocket gusset option to comet R2?

Even in the standard version, pressing and spreading both sides of the coin pocket makes it open wide enough for easy access. Adding the gusset changes how it opens, but it does not change ease of access or capacity. We generally recommend the standard version, but please choose based on your preferred appearance and opening style.

Will attaching keys to the key ring scratch the wallet?

Keys can rub against the leather and may scratch the surface. To minimize scratches, we recommend the D-ring key chain, which keeps the key inside the wallet, or the key jacket, which covers the key itself.

Which options and customizations are available?

Only the options shown in the selectors on each product page are available. Unlisted structural changes, size changes, bespoke specifications, and full custom orders are not accepted.

Which side should the D-ring be attached to?

For right-handed use, the left side generally makes opening and closing smoother. The right side can help keep contents from spilling if the wallet is dropped while hanging from a shoulder strap. Choose based on how you use it.

Can a wallet be made for left-handed use?

For eligible products, select “Left-handed (reversed) production (free)” on the product page and choose “Yes”. If this selector is not shown, the item is not eligible.

Can I change the hardware to gold or silver?

Gold or silver hardware can be selected on applicable products. Please choose only from the hardware options displayed on that product page.

Delivery

How long does delivery take, and can I choose a delivery date?

Orders ship within seven business days after payment is completed and normally arrive two to three days after shipment, or three to four days for remote islands. Delivery dates and times cannot be specified. Please see our shipping policy for details.

How are domestic orders delivered, and can I use post-office hold?

Domestic orders are sent by Letter Pack Plus and handed to the recipient in person; delivery to a mailbox is not available. Post-office hold is available.

How much is shipping?

Within Japan, orders of ¥5,000 or more ship free; orders under ¥5,000 cost a flat ¥600. There is no free-shipping threshold for international orders. Tracked shipping is ¥1,500 to Asia; ¥2,000 to Europe, Oceania, Canada, Mexico, and the Middle East; and ¥2,500 to the United States, Latin America, and Africa.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. International orders are normally sent by Japan Post International Air Packet, a tracked service, and usually take about two weeks to one month. Delivery to Taiwan and Hong Kong generally takes about six days. Items are normally delivered to the recipient’s mailbox. Ordering to the United Kingdom is temporarily unavailable while UK VAT collection is being configured. No shipping option appears at checkout where Japan Post has suspended acceptance.

What happens if I am not home when my order arrives?

Domestic Letter Pack Plus requires in-person delivery, so please follow the carrier’s notice and arrange redelivery within the holding period. International Air Packet is normally delivered to the recipient’s mailbox; handling of an item that does not fit varies by the local postal operator. If a parcel is returned, the customer is responsible for the cost of shipping it again.

Can I collect my order in person?

Orders are delivered by post, including within Okinawa. Direct collection from the workshop is not available.

What should I do if my order confirmation email does not arrive?

After you place an order, our order system (Shopify) automatically sends a confirmation email from shizen.okinawa@gmail.com. Check your spam and promotions folders first. If it is still missing, include the name used for the order and the approximate date and time of your order, then contact us on official LINE or by email.

How can I confirm payment or order status?

To confirm individual order details, include your order number and the name used for the order, then contact us on official LINE or by email.

Which payment methods are available?

Payment-method availability varies by country and region. Please use the credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, or other methods displayed at checkout.

How can I cancel an order after placing it?

If your order has not shipped, please contact us through official LINE or email with your order number. If you do not know it, include the name used for the order and the approximate date and time of purchase. If you have not paid for a convenience-store or bank-transfer order, do not make the payment and the item will not be shipped. For convenience-store payments, the KOMOJU payment becomes invalid after the payment deadline. Bank transfers may still be received even after an order is canceled, so please contact us if you want the cancellation confirmed. If payment has already been completed, we will check the Shopify/KOMOJU status and process a refund to the original payment method. Cancellations after shipment may not be accepted.

Do displayed prices include tax, and are there any extra fees?

Displayed prices include Japanese consumption tax. International shipping is charged on every order. Except for U.S. orders, destination duties, import taxes, customs-clearance charges, and carrier fees are paid by the recipient. Required U.S. import charges are collected at checkout and prepaid before shipment. Please see the legal notice for details.

Can I change the product after placing an order?

Yes. The product can be changed after ordering. Please include your order number and the name used for the order, then contact us through official LINE or email.

Can I return an unused item if it differs from my expectations?

Yes. Please reply to an email from us within seven days of delivery. Return shipping is the customer's responsibility. Items cannot be returned if they have been used, damaged or soiled by the customer, purchased on sale or from another seller, or personalized with a name. Please see the refund policy for details.

What should I do if an item is defective, damaged in transit, or different from my order?

Within seven days of delivery, please send us a photo showing the issue through official LINE or by email. We will cover the shipping cost and arrange a replacement. If an exchange is unavailable, we will issue a refund; refunds are processed to the original payment method within three business days after the returned item arrives.

Gifts & packaging

Are your leather goods suitable as gifts?

Yes. Leather goods are a classic gift that can be used for many years. Choose any available engraving or gift options shown on the product page.

How is an order packaged?

Products are delivered in a simple original presentation box. For gifts, we also recommend our original gift pouch, available from eligible product pages.

Will the engraved name fade or disappear?

No. The name is burned into the leather, so it will not disappear. If you would like engraving, select the name-engraving option on the eligible product page.

Store, samples & coupons

Is there a physical store or can I request a sample?

We operate online only and do not have a physical store. A product sample may be mailed for purchase consideration; availability and instructions are confirmed individually on LINE.

Are coupons available?

Coupons may occasionally be issued through our official LINE account. Individual thank-you coupons are also currently sent to customers who post a product review.

Repairs

Can a damaged wallet or D-ring be repaired?

Yes. Repairs are accepted with no time limit. D-ring repairs are free of charge. The cost of other wallet repairs depends on the extent of the damage and the work required: some repairs may be free, while others may exceed the original price of the wallet itself. Return shipping from us is free; you only pay the shipping cost to send the item to our workshop. Please send photos on LINE first so an artisan can check the condition and provide the current shipping instructions.
